This guy makes “art“. But it is freaky, conceptually amazing, and just pure horror movie shitt. I love this “Cheshire cat” idea. But check out some of his other stuff. Really awesome and old school and frankly inspires my creativity. Amazing … awesome stuff. Check it out. Below is just a small sampling to give you a feel for the detail and thought he puts into his work.
Nice … this one looks awfully gory. On the flip side, it’s in Thai therefore, incomprehensible to folks like myself that would call themselves folks. Love the gore. I’ll watch it in Thai if I have to. Keep your eyes on this one.
In the Halloween spirit, the USA Today had a short article on the new Romero zombie movie which is currently untiltled.
Here’s a couple quotes from Romero:
- “It’s about tribalism …. There are two factions. It’s the idea that even when faced with a crisis, tribal concerns about power control people’s motives.”
- “Diary was like Night. It had a brooding personality,” “This one is more like 1978′s Dawn of the Dead, with a lot of action.”
- “It’s this whole idea of tribalism, that we can’t pull it together, … News reports about the presidential race still bring up religious topics or racism. That’s pretty much the central theme.”
SO, he’s making a zombie movie about racism?? I doubt that he really meant that. (God I hope not).
Although, I think Romero now believes that he’s “supposed” to use zombies to comment on the state of our society in general. I’d like to tell him to stick with the “Romero Zombie” and gore and skip the social commentary. I actually wonder if he really thought about the “shopping mall as a symbol of materialism in our society” as a “statement” when he made Dawn of the Dead? Anyway, get on with the Zombie stuff.
