As a rather zealous zombie fan, I’m thrilled that this just happens to be really an zombie story (in a non-Traditional (non-Romero zombie) sense).

Shit, even more … imagine my thrill to learn the movie is in development with Eli Roth at the helm. Apparently everything I write about is in reference to Roth. (Despite the fact that Slither‘s Tim Gunn blew me away, and I’m a fan of many other directors … odd trivia … did you know Gunn is married to Pam from The Office (Jenna Fischer)?)Jenna Fischer5crop Stephen Kings Cell & Eli Roth

Release date for “Cell” in 2009 (maybe I’ll finish the book by then).

Stephen King’s book-to-movie adaptations are risky, but then again it seems like Roth is not trying to take the safe path in any of his projects.

Eli Roth’s Trailer Trash … “Thankgiving” Redux for 2 hours or something else?

 
I like Eli Roth Eli Roths Trailer Trash ... Thankgiving Redux for 2 hours or something else? … quite a bit. Does that make me sadistic or evil? Maybe … and I’m fine with that.

movie.  Now he apparently intends to make a whole movie of just trailers called “Trailer Trash”. While I will withhold judgment until I see it, something makes me concerned about this.
 
 
I’m concerned that it will either feel like an awfully long commercial without any semblance of a storyline, characters, or interest … or it will be an genius twist on the decade old skit format. I have faith in Roth … at least for now.
 
Trailer Trash is scheduled for release on August 22nd.

Where is the next GREAT horror movie coming from?

The Japanese were kicking ass for awhile … with some decent remakes in the US.  The Koreans came out The%20Host Where is the next GREAT horror movie coming from?with a fantastic, traditional monster movie in “The Host”.   The French came out of nowhere and gave us some nice, gory movies like Inside Where is the next GREAT horror movie coming from? and Frontier(s).  By the way, if you haven’t seen some of the movies I mention here, drop everything and go shopping.

There were good movies like “The Descent”, “Hostel”, and both of Rob Zombie’s movies.  So, like an impatient little crackhead, I’m ready for more.  What’s next?

 I say again … in my whiny voice … What’s Next?  And When?   Oh yeah … Hellboy II and Dark Knight … and for that matter no fuckin’ comic-book-made-movie (barring Creepshow) really counts as a true Horror Movie.

I’m afraid we’ll have to wait until late this summer to find out what’s being released in the pre-Halloween (“see this movie is scary because it came out on Halloween”) rush.  The Grudge 3 … sometime in 2009?  There’s some other stuff in the works that I am excited about, but I think I’m way too impatient.
